It is with great pride that we announce the acquisition of ME Recruitment.

Recently celebrating their 10-year birthday, ME Recruitment has made a name for themselves as a known and trusted partner within the Insurance & Wealth industry. Over the last decade they have continued to provide high quality service to their candidates and clients.

And with this acquisition comes the addition of three fantastic new team members; Madeleine Martin , Selina Moschoyiannis and Jessica Eastaway .

Cameron Watson , our Manager of Insurance & Wealth Management, says “We are thrilled to have the ME Recruitment team as part of our Fuse family. The opportunity to secure 3 highly experienced industry specialist recruiters will add further capability to our Insurance & Wealth Management operation. The acquisition will continue to position us as a true industry partner and provide further support to our clients and candidates in the Insurance & Wealth Management sector”.

Fuse Recruitment Managing Director, Mathew Westcott , says “It’s an exciting time for Fuse. We’ve grown significantly year on year, and we don’t intend to stop now. The addition of Madeleine, Selina and Jess was an easy decision. Fuse is passionate about the Insurance industry, and these girls share that passion, along with a drive to provide excellent service to our candidates and clients”.

So, its only natural that we asked Madeleine, Selina and Jess some questions to find out more about them and introduce them as the latest faces on the Fuse team.

Tell us about your recruitment career

Madeleine: I started as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant at Alexander Grey in January 2007 where I had the opportunity to run a busy temp desk and then a permanent financial planning and superannuation desk. From there I went to Alliance Financial Services recruiting in Financial Planning and General Insurance. In mid-2009 I established ME Recruitment and I have spent the past ten years as Managing Director of the business as it has grown as a specialist provider to the Insurance, Financial Planning, Mortgage Broking and broader Financial Services market.

Selina: After graduating from university with a Bachelor of Commerce I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I guess you could say that I fell into the recruitment industry and can happily say that I have never looked back since! I was fortunate enough to start my recruitment career with ME Recruitment, where I was given endless opportunities and support to progress my career. I’ve since worked in the Financial Services Recruitment space throughout my career and have developed a strong skill set in Financial Planning, Mortgage Broking and Insurance to name a few areas.

Jessica: I started my recruitment career as a grad with Madeleine at ME Recruitment 9 years ago. I had no experience in the industry and it was my first professional position. I specialised in Insurance and worked alongside Madeleine. Majority of the clients I worked with were small to mid-sized brokerages. I worked at ME for approx. 3 years and then I moved on into internal recruitment at one of Melbourne’s largest law firms. I worked in the graduate recruitment and learning and development team. After going on maternity leave, I came back to work with Madeleine and have been back part time ever since!

How do you spend your weekends?

Madeleine: With my kids at the beach in the summer or hiding inside with a coffee and book in the winter.

Selina: With family and friends – over a delicious meal and glass (or two..or three) of wine! It’s also not really a weekend without trying a new brunch place – I’m on the lookout for the best smashed avo! Recommendations are welcome!

Jessica: I usually spend my weekends with my two small children Isaac and April. If I am not with the kids, I enjoy going out with friends for dinner and drinks or going to Blairgowrie.

What does this partnership with Fuse mean to you?

Madeleine: The partnership with Fuse has presented itself as an opportunity for our team to create an even better client and candidate experience whilst retaining the amazing relationships and connections that we have developed over the past decade. This partnership provides us with the resources and support of a much larger team that shares our values and we are very excited to be part of a Company with a reputation as strong as Fuse Recruitment.

Selina: The partnership with Fuse has been an exciting opportunity for us, especially as we’ve been able to join a likeminded, successful business that shares our values and goals. It’s given us the opportunity to strengthen our service offering to our clients and candidates by having access to more resources and support. We’re looking forward to working together and the journey from this point onward.

Jessica: The partnership with Fuse is exciting as I get to work within a larger team and hopefully be open to more opportunity to continue to learn and develop new skills within the industry.

What do you do to create culture in your office?

Madeleine: As a team we really celebrate each other’s achievements and we take the time to get together outside of work to celebrate birthdays, milestones and exciting business achievements.

Selina: Culture has always been a very important factor for us, and we’ve enjoyed a great working environment as a result of this. We celebrate individual and team achievements and enjoy catching up socially inside and outside of work. Respect is always key!

Jessica: I create culture by having a bit of a joke and a laugh.

Highlight of your career so far?

Madeleine: I think bringing ME Recruitment and Fuse Recruitment together is an absolute highlight. To find a team that has similar objectives to ours and a brilliant culture is very exciting and in bringing both businesses together I think we will be offering a service to clients that is above and beyond anything they have experienced so far.

Selina: Getting to where I am today – as part of Fuse has certainly been the highlight. There have been many milestones throughout my career, which have all led to this exciting opportunity.

Jessica: The highlight of my career so far would have to be my graduate recruitment experience with Ashurst. I had never worked with such a large company, so it was a great experience to see what it was like. I learnt and developed so many new skills during my time with them.

If you could give any advice to someone wanting to start their career in recruitment, what would it be?

Madeleine: Be resilient and have fun with it. As with many careers, the highs are high, and the lows are low but, in this industry, there are so many highs – I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

Selina: Go for it! It’s a great industry to be in with a lot of ongoing career potential. It’s a great feeling when you place a candidate in their dream role and getting to build strong relationships with clients is most fulfilling.

Jessica: My advice to someone wanting to start a career in recruitment would be to work hard and meet with as many clients/candidates as you can to gain experience.

What is your favourite food?

Madeleine: Salmon or mushrooms… Things that I never get to eat because my kids refuse to touch them!

Selina: That’s a tough one, generally anything made of carbohydrates like bread or pasta!

Jessica: My favourite food is Thai food!
