According to the University of Queensland, “Gen Z can expect to have 16-17 jobs across 5-7 careers.” With most people experiencing a career change at least once in their lives, it’s important to take time to reflect on your career aspirations before diving headfirst into job applications. What kind of role excites you? What industry aligns with your passions and strengths? It may be a simple step to miss but clarifying your career goals will give you a clear sense of purpose in your professional journey. 

Update your resume and LinkedIn  

It may sound simple, but this is a step in the process that often gets ignored. Think of your resume and LinkedIn profile as your personal marketing tools—they’re your chance to shine!  

Recruiters sift through hundreds of resumes, so it’s crucial to make yours stand out by highlighting your most relevant experiences. People often make the mistake of networking for the sake of networking, but you should begin by genuinely establishing meaningful connections. People are more inclined to help when they feel a real connection rather than viewing you as a mere acquaintance.

Prepare for interviews
