March 8th is International Women’s Day.

We wanted to use IWD2021 as an opportunity to highlight the success stories of our team.

Women make up 65% of our company, and more than half of those women are working mums that making juggling a career and being a working parent look easy. Not only that, but the Ladies of Fuse are supportive, collaborative and all bring a range of unique characteristics and traits to our team that helps to make our business so successful. In addition to our superstar working mums, we also have confident and driven women that continue to develop with our business.

“… Great women, great opportunities. That’s what we try and strive for at Fuse. So often ambition, personal and professional development and a raft of other things take a back seat for women all over the world. We are trying to bridge that gap! Happy international women’s day to all the great women of Fuse and beyond …” – Tyson McNeilly , CEO

“…The Ladies of Fuse have had and will continue to have a profound impact on our organisation. They are the engine room of our success and we are striving each day to make sure that the Fuse experience is a fantastic one, regardless of gender. Thank you and happy international women’s day to all the Ladies of Fuse, past and present, as well as the partners of our team members who work hard and sacrifice for the betterment of our organisation …” – Matthew Christensen , Director

We asked our women to tell us about one of their favourite kick-ass moments at Fuse. Because nothing feels better than looking back at something you did, no matter how big or small, and feeling like you smashed it.

Kerri Franz , Account Manager

“My favourite kick-ass moment at Fuse would have to be receiving a call from the manager of a local company recently. The Client stated that he has been referred to me by another local business because I had supplied the best candidates and managed the account effortlessly! This makes me feel like all the hard work I do is so worthwhile. Word of mouth is a wonderful thing in this business”.

Leah Finch , Client Relationship Manager

“While Covid19 took over and the world of Insurance & Wealth Management recruitment shrivelled up within days, I put in the hard yards, stuck it out and was rewarded with a promotion! I’m now loving the challenge of my new role and having a greater involvement in strategy, operations and running of the business”.

Leah Creswick , Manufacturing Team Leader VIC

“I joined Fuse Melbourne in 2012, only 2 years into business trading. Since then, I have been the longest-serving female consultant in the business nationally, and am currently fulfilling the position of Manufacturing Team Leader VIC. This role requires me to be responsible for the manufacturing-focused recruitment activities in Fuse Melbourne, and the Manufacturing Team is the highest GP generating Team in the branch. Whilst being a full-time working Mum (with another baby on the way!), I am tracking strongly to be Fuse Recruitment’s (nationally) highest biller for FY 20-21”.

Amy Hatfield , Recruitment Resourcer

“About a year ago, I called my parents on my walk home toying with the idea of leaving Australia due to uncertainty caused by the pandemic. I would rather have left on a good note knowing I’d had an amazing time, rather than because I had no other option. Here I am nearly a year later, so happy that I made the decision to stay. It has probably been the most difficult year of my life, having to go through curfews, 5km radius boundaries, job security and visa worries, just to name a few challenges whilst living on the other side of the world with no family to support me. However, I’m so proud of who I have become in the process. I’ve managed to stay well connected with my friends and family wherever they are in the world, appreciate the smaller things, build up my trust levels and overall have become a much stronger, independent and kick-ass person. Fuse Recruitment played a humongous part in this rollercoaster of a year, by giving me the platform to advance my career whilst being the perfect family away from home. Over the last 6 months, I’ve also helped 8 graduates start their careers in the insurance industry. This may not sound like many, but I think it’s a great achievement as last year there was a huge hiring freeze across Australia, especially for Graduate roles. It’s very rewarding to know I’ve helped young people secure their first role after what must have been an incredibly tough year having to study and sit exams from home.”.

Melissa Kennedy, Branch Manager Queensland

“For me, getting through each day managing being a Branch Manager and a working mum, and completing my tasks in each of my functions is kick ass!”.

Madeleine Martin , Team Leader, Insurance & Wealth Management

“My proudest career achievement was joining Fuse Recruitment when they purchased my business in 2019. It has been exciting to take on a new challenge within their Melbourne operation and to lead a team of specialist Consultants in our Insurance and Wealth Management channel. Growing a business from scratch and running a successful operation for ten years was extremely rewarding but the highlight was merging that business with Fuse and opening up a whole new realm of possibility for my career in Recruitment”.

Nicole Hart , Marketing Manager

“As someone with imposter syndrome, it has been a challenge to try and come up with my favourite kick-ass moment at Fuse. I am lucky enough to work for a company that supports me and regularly tells me I am doing a great job. My favourite kick-ass moment would have to date back to my first few months here when I was asked to complete a tender for recruitment services. My initial thought was “I thought I got out of doing assignments when I left university?!” but it was a great learning experience for me and helped me learn a lot about the business and what we do. A month or two later, our Director received confirmation that we had been successful and were now a provider. This gave me confidence in my role and felt like I had really achieved something great for the business”.
